We use Cedar for all privacy fence pickets – Japanese Cedar, and Western Red Cedar are naturally resistant to rot, decay, and insect damage — critical in the hot, humid North Texas climate. Unlike lower-grade wood fence pickets or treated pine pickets, Cedar contains natural oils (thujaplicins) that repels moisture and insects without chemical treatment.
